Adani Ahmedabad MarathonIn a show of solidarity and support towards our nation’s armed forces, close to 8000 participants ran the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon on 26th November 2017. The race categories included Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 Km and 5 Km Run. Runners included 1000+ members of the Indian armed forces drawn from the Army, Air Force and Navy. A sum of Rs. 25 Lakhs was collected through registrations while another Rs. 25 Lakhs was contributed by the Adani Group towards the armed force welfare fund. A total amount of Rs. 50 Lakhs was donated by the Adani Ahmedabad Marathon for the welfare of our nation’s armed forces. The cheque for the armed force welfare fund was handed over to Air Vice Marshal Dhir by Mrs. Priti Adani.
Go-Red, Blood Donation Drive, 24th June, 2016Led by Chairman Shri Gautam Adani, the Adani Group, in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized a National Blood Donation Drive on June 24, 2016. The Chairman commenced the drive by donating blood for the noble cause. The donation drive turned out to be a phenomenal success as the employees enthusiastically donated a whopping 9655 units of blood in a single day.
World Environment Day 2016A green planet for a better tomorrow is what Adani strongly believes in. To celebrate The World Environment Day, Adani organized a tree plantation drive across our locations. Over 15,800 trees were planted by Adani employees and locals across our business locations. The drive at several locations also involved free distribution of organic fabric bags to encourage people to ‘say no to plastic’. Students from various Adani Vidyamandirs participated in various cultural and educational activities on the occasion.
The Spirit of India run kick starts from KanyakumariAustralian ultra-marathon runner and former Member of Parliament Pat Farmer set off on a 4,600- kilometer long run on 26th Jan, from Kanyakumari to Kashmir.
Adani Group proudly supports the Spirit of India Run aiming at raising funds for education of Indian girls.
PraYasAdani Power promoted national initiative of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan through PraYas across several corporate and operational sites in India.
The initiative was formally launched by Mr. Vneet S Jaain, CEO, Adani Power Limited, Ahmedabad. Mr. Jaain said, “Adani Power Limited has always been at the forefront when it comes to investing in cleaner and greener technologies irrespective of the premium required for the same. But our responsibility does not end there. “PraYas” is not about doing anyone a favour. It is in everyone’s interest to live in clean societies. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the respective corporations and Gram Panchayats at our operating sites, for their phenomenal support of our employees. We hope this small initiative from our employees will inspire at least a few people to act responsibly and keep our country clean.”
The initiative saw the active participation of Adani Power employees and numerous enthusiastic volunteers from the communities across Ahmedabad, Mundra, Tiroda, Kawai, Udupi and Raigad.
Pledge to Protect the Girl Child - A campaign to transform the lives of the Girl Child in IndiaAs gesture of giving back to society, we, Adani Power decided to take a Pledge to Protect the Girl Child in the month of December 2013. The campaign was launched across all sites & locations of Power Business The Girl Pledge Campaign is a national campaign initiated by The Art of Living and UNICEF to address some extremely serious issues faced by women and girls in India today. 1592 employees from 7 different states & 12 locations of Adani Power expressed their solidarity by taking the pledge together. This truly depicted the spirit of ‘’One Team One Adani’’. Employees across Ahmedabad, Mundra, Tiroda, Kawai, Pench, Dahej, Naliya and all Business Development & Transmission sites participated in the campaign. The campaign passionately inspired Power Business employees of all ages irrespective of level/grades to pledge to protect the Girl Child from Abuse & Violence, Child Marriage, Female Foeticide and Malnutrition and ensure their Education.
Blood Donation Camp – Go RedAdani Group employees set an example of courage and commitment to save human lives by turning up in large numbers at the blood donation drive organized by Adani Act pan-India on June 24, 2015. Leading by example, the Chairman of the Group Mr. Gautam Adani and other family members also donated blood, which motivated 7,700 Adani Parivaar members to do the same.
International Yoga DayJune 21, 2015Keeping in pace with the celebration of International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2015, Adani Vidya Mandir, Ahmedabad, marked the occasion in its school premises in accordance with the schedule prepared by Ministry of AYUSH. A mass gathering of thousand awakened young minds (871 students and staff members) assembled in the school playground on June 21, 2015 to perform yogasanas, pranayama & meditation.
